Janet is also the co-founder of 'Healthy Aperture', the first online food gallery created and curated by registered dietitians, and is the author of the new book "The Food Lover's Healthy Habits Cookbook" with the editors of Cooking Light.

The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts (JCFGCA) believes that Julia’s 100th birthday is cause for celebration! We know that many will want to honor Julia’s life and work. In accordance with the JCFGCA’s responsibilities, the Trustees have established the following guidelines for those wishing to organize tribute events. The JCFGCA is in favor of these events as long as their primary aim is celebratory, not trading on Julia’s legacy for the purposes of profit.

June 4, 2010 was a momentous day for LDEI, Green Tables and childhood nutrition. Forty plus Dames * from 15 chapters joined chefs from 37 states on the South Lawn of the White House for the launch of "Chefs Move to Schools", the new initiative of the First Lady's "Let's Move!" campaign to end childhood obesity.

Natalie MacLean, an award-winning wine writer from Nepean, Ontario, won first prize in the M.F.K. Fisher Awards for Excellence in Culinary Writing competition, sponsored by Les Dames d’Escoffier International. In addition to a $1,000 cash prize, MacLean won a trip to the LDEI Annual Conference in Palm Springs to accept the award at the October 23 gala banquet honoring M.F.K. Fisher.
